About Us

Reg No.: 157211

Amy Mother and Child Care Foundation (AMCCF) is a non profit Foundation that believes in the total mental and physical wellbeing of mothers and children in Africa, through joint coordinated actions, mobilization and enlightenment programs.

Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic, 2008 had it that Sub-Saharan Africa carries a high proportion of the global disease burden for maternal and child health and HIV/AIDS. The region accounts for half of the world’s maternal, newborn, child deaths and two-thirds of people living with HIV/AIDS.

A shortage of qualified health workers is a major constraint for accessing essential health care in Africa, which suffers more than 24% of the global burden of disease, yet has only 3% of the world’s health workers.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the lowest density of total health workers per 1,000 population of 2.3 compared to Europe with 18.9. At least 36 countries of the 46 countries experience critical shortages in human resources. This affects mostly the rural areas of Africa, making the locals dependent on self medication or herbs and roots which have caused more deaths than remedy.

The objective behind AMCCF is to reach out to as many mothers as possible, to as many children as possible and touch their lives in several positive ways.

Our Objective

We work to prevent or relieve sickness and disability of most pregnant women and their children; to preserve and protect their health as well.

We assist in the alleviation and management of indigent mothers and children.

We visit orphanage homes to distribute relief materials and assist those in IDPs.

We work to eliminate poverty and inequality from the grass roots in the cycle of deprivation. We do this by paying special attention to the conditions of African mothers and children.
